Our cute grad ball pic...

*Pag lumipad yung lobo eventually puputok yun dba? Saan napupunta yung mga lobo? Bat wala akong nakikita?

After n Number of Months, we gather

Yesterday is probably the best thing that will ever happen to my entire christmas vacation. Really.
Me and my high school friends met just for the heck of it, just because we had nothing better to do that's why. Nah.. It's because we miss each other badly that we had to set a date to see each other or else. Aww what mushiness! It was a sort of but not quite post-Christmas partee. A quasi-party is more like it. We have been talking about it for ages although we're not too keen on the planning and stuff. It's because we're all sooo unbelievably lazy.
It's me, kare, karren, sed, yana, rich, abat (I actually hesitated on typing mac instead of abat but I liked the sound of abat better. Don't we all?), tin, koj, lourd and leo (oh I hope I didn't miss anyone) and cliff pa pala :). We ate dinner at Popeye's then went KTV-ing afterwards at the Music 21 Plaza. Wow pare ang hi-tech! We sang our hearts out to Britney's Lucky, Westlife's Uptown Girls and a LOT more songs that came in mind plus those we spotted through continuous meddling (if that's the right term) of the huge remote control. We couldn't stop making-pindot the damn remote control. At one point, nag-hang pa yung computer! Nyahaha. You really can't leave a piece of new contraption in the hands of tech-devouring people. Whoa! So we're tech-devouring, then?
I had a major blooper I won't tell... Mwahaha. Secret ko na yun. Secret namin nila *toooooot*. Actually, it's not a secret anymore dammit! Nakapublish na nga e. Arrgh.. Whoever did that shall pay... You know who you are goddammit!
Going back..
How can we ever forget to sing ocho ocho and bakit mama? The ever so uplifting anthem of all ages with matching dance steps because ocho ocho won't be ocho ocho without the dancing. And our finale song (drum roll please)... Spaghetti! Oh I just love saying Aww the sexbomb way, high-pitched and bitchy.

The Overnight Part

After our major videoke night, we had a sleepover at kareeza's place. Only some of us though. Just like the million sleepovers we've had there, the night was filled with watching tv, talking, some more talking, laughing and did i mention talking? We watched this (ahem ahem)weird video which I would not elaborate on for fear of not giving justice to the poor thing.
I was extremely puyat because I slept at around 5.30AM and woke up at 10 to play bridge. Yana's my team mate. You know what they say regarding two unlucky individuals... they're bound to win. And win did we! Despite overwhelming odds we were able to beat Karren and Rich. Mwahahaha. Ano kayo ngayon??
There you go our reunion/party/overnight thingy last December 29. Too bad, we weren't complete.

Aliens are trying to send a message

Yesterday, I accompanied my lola, an aunt and few cousins from the province to Star City. Before that, I imagined we were going the same place I have been to once before- open air, semi-cool rides and a reasonable amount of people. A place worth one's time. But whoa! My illusions of a pretty decent theme park shattered into a million pieces when we got there (stick expression of disgust here). The place was literally overflowing with people. As in overflowing. I could almost swear half of the Philippine population was there (the other half's in Ultra for the F4 concert). People were walking shoulder to shoulder because the place was so cramped with long lines, a lot of kids (makes you think where all the kids are coming from), the oh-so-pathetic rides and the stalls (stalls in an amusement park?!). All kinds of people were there- big, small, young, old, pregnant, fat, thin, annoying (a lot of them), funny, epal, jologs- name it. Everybody's there. Aliens are trying to control us! Through some weird message via mental telepathy they made people go to Star City all at the same time (those who watched the F4 concert were spared). In all fairness, although Star City was overloaded with people, the aircon was still working and its pretty cold there.

Dancing with Minnie, Mickey and (watdaheck?!) Sylvester

So after about 45 minutes of pointless walking, we found ourselves in the Aliw theater waiting for the circus and ballet show to start. We were caught off-guard by three mascots- pirated minnie mouse, pirated mickey mouse and pirated sylvester (or at least it looked like sylvester). Watda! Sylevester?! Since when did Warner Brothers and Disney merge companies or at least merge characters huh? Then the kids, they just attacked the three mascots. From where I sat which was pretty far from the stage, the kids looked like ants invading the stage to have pictures taken, to touch or even just to stand beside the mascots. Suddenly, mommies were all over the stage too for one sole purpose, to have their picture taken with the mascots. I don't know what they're thinking, but the mascots looked horrible. Who wants them to be immortalized on pictures? And then, the friggin' spaghetti song was played and the army of children on the stage just danced the spaghetti, all of them. Our mascots danced the spaghetti too, of course. A group of young girls on the stage were dancing like they know the steps better than they know the alphabet. They were dancing spaghetti like all they had were 206 (or more) cartilages. Just like package deals, after the spaghetti song was played, Mr.Suave came next. This was not a dance song. Nevertheless, the mascots still danced and I must say they dance pretty well for a mascot. When the hoy hoy hoy hoy hoy hoy part came in, the whole theater (except me!) was practically screaming hoy hoy hoy hoy hoy hoy too. What's with that song? At some parts of the song pirated sylvester and pirated mickey mouse dirty-danced. They even performed a slapstick of some sort. Pirated mickey hit pirated sylvester in the head and vice-versa. Lucky they were in a mascot suit. It was supposed to be funny. But it wasn't. It was annoying. What were they thinking?
Just as they say, things come in threes, after that Mr. Suave song Ocho-ocho was played. I swear every kid in that theater must have danced the ocho-ocho. The group of girls I was telling you a while ago unleashed all their energy for that song. They danced the ocho-ocho like there was no tomorrow, cartilages and all.
Ocho-ocho was the finale (thank God!).

The Face behind that Stupid Mascot

I thought about the people behind the mascots. It's sad. You get into that ridiculously funny suit and then you dance and try to be funny. Then, you'll be paid a meager salary for going out there and making yourself look stupid in a suit that would make all your sweat come out. All in the name of making a living!

Princess of the Moon

So the circus/ballet show started. Except for the man tightroping on a unicycle who almost fell and the glow in the dark paper whale which looked like a really huge worm to me nothing is really worth blabbing about. It's a mediocre show. You know the usual jugglers, ballerinas, fire-eaters (or watzit they're called?) and contortionists.

Ken Zhu Loves me!

After the show, my cousins (who were all kids) rode the kiddie bump cars. While I ,the elder apo , ate popcorn in an F4 inspired tumbler. I kept it because Ken (my love) was there. Bading si Dao Ming Si! Here's my little souvenir from yesterday's near nightmare experience:

And the day Ends

We all decided to go home because it was almost ten PM and the lines to rides (which aren't at all fun) were miles long and we haven't eaten yet. I insisted on leaving everyone because I wanted to go home. They wanted me to come with them to Antipolo where my aunt lived. It was so far and I was so tired so I rode the Pacita bus instead. All that people made me dizzy that my head ached when I got home.

Summary:The trip to Star City was a total waste of time. If I wasn't needed as tour-guide (boy was I a guide tour guide!), I shouldn't have com. I was better of watching TV doing nothing.
Lesson learned: Never ever go near Star City for the rest of my freakin' life!

Pointless Blab

It's my OAOL's birthday today, I mean yesterday (Dec.25) thus, the gigantic greeting below.

I had a merry christmas yesterday. I couldn't believe my bisperas was sucky. I am so full. I swear if I eat another morsel my stomach would explode. We had the usual birthday staple, (walang kamatayang)spaghetti and cake but I ate huge servings. Yum yum. A perfect ten for that chocolate cake! Triple yum yum. I ate mine with a lot of chocolate icing, which I really love. Hmmmm. Sweet.

After that super filling dinner/merienda ('cause it's too early to be dinner but too late for merienda), Kareeza called telling me how excited she is for tomorrow. She'll be adopting a cat, for crying out loud! Afterwards, I called Karren to greet her just before Christmas ends We talked for an hour and a half, updating each other with the "latest" while my mom was singing with the videoke on the background. We had a major catching up/chismisan to do. We haven't talked since the semester started.

We opened one wine bottle and I had a few sips of muscat. It has a measly 10% alcohol by volume so I'm not supposed to get drunk by that. My aunt bought pulutan (happy peanuts) to go with the drink.
After that, I grabbed the microphone from my mom and sang my heart out to the tune of old senti songs and mariah carey (lakas ng loob ko no?). My throat hurt after that as it always does after singing that Mariah cd. Si Regine naman sa susunod...

LSS: silverchair's the greatest view
mood: freaked out but happy

Happy Birthday Nanay!!!

Mukhang masaya pasko nila e. Complete family may bonus pa.

Merry Christmas!

Waaah! Help! May lumilipad na ipis! Lintek na mga ipis yan. B'at ba di pa sila mamatay lahat? Bwiseeeeet talaga!

Eniwey, nage-mail sa kin yung the calling fans club. They sent us a freakin' christmas letter! Waaah! Nakakabaliw. That's the best Christmas gift ever! Talk about major kababawan...

Ang saya 'no? Paskong-pasko ang dating.

-- Mukhang hindi magiging exclusive for the family ang Christmas namin ngayong taon. Tumawag kasi yung aunt ko pupunta raw sila dito kasama ang my OAOL (one and only lola) and some cousins. Parang reunion. Nadiscover ko tuloy ang bago kong talent-- pagbabalot ng mga regalo in a very short period of time.

Weird no? Maiisip mo tuloy...

Paint it Black

I finally finished my readings on Constantino. Yipee! Five chapters of Philippine History under Japanese rule. Whew! I survived.

The new paint job for our house is (surprise!) not over yet. For the past three weeks or so the smell of paint has invaded my respiratory system up to its alveoli, I think, that I am almost nearly (parang redundant)intoxicated. Paint aroma is so addicting as it is headache-inducing. Anyway, we also had our gate repainted with the same color as before. But before that the old paint had to be removed. Who would do the job better than (drumroll...) me! Removing paint is no joke. Nakakapuwing, nakakapagod at nakakangawit. All in all, removing paint is a sucky, messy and super pointless job!

Things to Do

From now on I promise to be organized. Pakshit! Ang dami kong gagawin ngayong bakasyon!!!!!!!!

Things to do this xmas break:

1) Chem lab written report
2) Read Constantino Chapters 1-5 (I'm on Chapter 3 already! yipee!)
3) Interview with a war veteran
4) Comm2 paper
5) Nervous System readings for n3
6) Study for a Chem test
7) MMDST observations

Sana naman matapos ko silang lahat. Ayoko na mag-cram.

Drat!

I can't download new mp3s. Arrgh! There's this list I already have and I'm excited to download them all. I'm sort of getting used with The Used already and Silverchair's still neat as ever.
Just watched the TV version of the NU Rock Awards. It was littered with unrehearsed lines and adlibs but the music made up for that.
-Urbandub is a promising band. They sound foreign. I forgot the title of their song but when I first heard it I had no doubt it was by a foreign band.
-Eraserheads was awarded the Hall of Fame award. I really think they deserve it. I grew up with e-heads music and so did most of my generation (right?).
-Erning from Strangebrew was sooo hot without her green cap/beret. Nababakla tuloy ako sa kanya.
-Tado is getting cornier perhaps because of that noontime show thing. Talk about degradation...
-Katya Santos. What is she doing at the rock awards? To make the male population there salivate, maybe. Whatever! She likes Parokya ni Edgar daw.
-Parokya ni Edgar and their Yes yes Show performance. They never fail to make me laugh. Too bad Dindin wasn't able to sing his part. Kuya told me it's too hard to sing while playing the drums. Chito sang his part instead.
-Cynthia Alexander is one great artist. She should be a hall of famer some year for promoting indigenous music alongside alternative music. Kudos!
-what else? I wasn't able to start the show. They'd be doing a repeat, I heard. Better catch that one na lang.

Here's our lantern parade pic.

Saylenay Olinay

Hooray to me! I've attended one out of nine simbang gabis. That's a pretty big achievement. For the past four years or so I haven't been to a single simbang gabi (no steer). Blame it to my overly exaggerated high school sched and my chronic laziness.
Instead of being eager and enthusiastic on our way to the church, I wanted to go back home 'cause it was too darn chilly outside. If my mother hadn't called me an erehe (that's heretic for you)palibhasa di pa nakukumpilan, I wouldn't even consider simbang gabi. It's just another religious/cultural tradition after all. We were late for mass so we had to stand outside amidst the chilly air because I forgot my jacket. Arrgh! Eventually, I can't stand the winds anymore I left my mom outside and went in (the church) where it was warm.
Because I was already inside I felt compelled to listen to the homily. Not that I don't usually listen. The force to make you listen was harder to resist when your inside. Words that stuck to my mind:"families who do not eat together aren't close families"<--ok that hit me. our family doesn't eat together, so we're not a close family? What does 'close family' mean anyway? Is closeness gauged by the number of times you eat together? "when you have a venial (i don't know if I spelled it correctly) sin your soul's sick"<-- Ok so my soul's, apparently, sick right now hmmm... "when you have a mortal sin your soul's dead" <-- I took this with a lot more hmmmms. So my soul's not sick, it's dead! Freaky huh? Fine, if that's what they say! I don't have to believe everything right? Or am I being too heretic already? Nah... I may not be too Catholic but I still am a believer of God (in all His greatness).
You just can't help questioning some priests sometimes. I may not know what homilies are all about but I know they're supposed to be more than cathecism lessons or pastoral letter readings. More than anything they should be about good Christian values and lessons from no less than the Bible.

Smells Like Xmas Spirit

Amoy na amoy na ang pasko. Madalas ko pang naririnig yung krismas carol na may 'chestnuts roasting on an open fire...'. Nakakalungkot tuloy. Namimiss ko tuloy nung high school. Ang daming regalo tapos may party pa. Paskong-pasko diba? E ngayon ang lame. Wala man lang krismas spirit. Sucky krismas.

No can do, ganun talaga e.

Lantern Parade, Today

Lantern Parade namin ngayon. Ibang klase. Basta dapat i-cheer ang college of nursing.

We're number one, not two, not three, not four (3x).

Ang saya-saya ng Lantern Parade para kaming nasa mosh pit, a milder kind of mosh pit kasi wala naman nagrorock dun diba?

I'm starting to love my college... CN pa rin.

My Violent Side

I am so weird. Whenever I am in a place where there are a huge number of people passing by, I have the urge to punch any one person picked at random in the face just for the heck of it. No, I don't want to punch girls just boys. I don't know where the idea came from but what if I do it? Will they fight back? Ahhh... It will be a lot of fun. Me taking on some bastard. A life so thrilling there'd be no boring moment anymore. At one point, I even wanted to call one frat a gay federation and let them know it and they would plot against me. I would be their most wanted enemy but they can't beat me 'cause I have to punch them all square in the face and they'll be crying back to wherever they come from boohoo poor them! They'll be like kids who ran out of candy to suck. It's almost movie-like.
What if I do it? Nah.. I'm too peace-loving.

Dengue Paranoia

Remember the fever I was talking about? I had it almost all week! It was an on-again-off-again fever that's driving me nuts. I had all these what ifs in my mind making me more paranoid by the minute. But I had a prevailing thought, that I have dengue. Oh please God don't allow! I have reason to believe I have dengue already. The recurring fever and red thingys on my skin... aren't all those symptoms of the dreaded dengue fever? However, come to think of it, the red stuff came after the fevers are gone hmmm...
and I feel a lot better now except for the itchy part.

Chemistry is such a lonely word

The hurricane has passed! Our first Chem dept is over. I just don't know if I'm going to pass. But well, at least I was able to answer some items with confidence. I think I'm better of with Math11 than Chem14. Chem is so not for me. I wanted to be exempted from the finals exam but I guess I'll have to let go of that dream now huhuhu. There's still hope. There are three more exams to do.

I'm sick but I had to go to School

I came home with a nasty fever from our CW class last Saturday (I'm not saying it was from that class, or was it?). It was one of those season-related fevers I always have during this time of the year but in the past years it came much later like last year and the year before that it was during New Year's Eve. Neat huh? What an amazing way to start the year, with a bang and a banig of antipyretic drugs. Yum yum...
Although my muscles were still weak, I was martir enough to attend classes today so that I practically dragged myself to the fx terminal for a speedy ride home because the stupid fever came back damn it! Thanks to Donna's vitamin B(iogesic) and a bottle of mineral water the fever was gone in about half an hour. Ahh.. the miracles of paracetamol.
When I got home I wasn't supposed to take bed rest yet because I had to conduct MMDST (Metro Manila Devptl eclavu) for one of our Nursing subjects. It isn't due until january but you can borrow the MMDST kit only once because the College is too poor to provide more kits to their dilligent students.
I had to make-uto two children just to do what I asked and I was like looking stupid doing stuff like hoping on 1 leg, jumping yadda yadda. Due to my wonderful charisma and powers of making-uto children, I was able to finish conducting MMDST to three children. The other child, didn't have to be uto-d to do what I ask. Nevertheless, I had to pay the price. I emerged with sorethroat after the tests. Arrrgh...
At last, I can rest...but no! There's an N2 quiz tomorrow. I have to read the uber dry handouts before going to bed. And who knows, I might dream of genes and mutations and fetuses in my sleep. Isn' that schway?

My First Weight Training Act

After several months of slumber, my muscles are once again awakened; brought back to life by a terribly exhausting ang protein-depleting PE class-slash- weight training activity. It took off with a pretty mediocre walking exercise (with a little jogging) around the UPM grounds, while we take in the unbelievably exhilirating scenery of our dear Alma Mater bit by bit. Alas, after all the pleasantries, we were ready to tackle the weight machines, which, if not for our belief in the UP system, we would refuse to handle for fear of having tetanus infection.
Although we did not emerge from the class with deadly infection, our quadriceps hurt big time that even walking was a feat we must overcome, much more was the fact that we had to take the stairs for our classes.
Gawd, what did I do to deserve this?

I Love Chem

I am so freaking out right now. Chem depts are due next week. Arrghh! I hope/pray/wish I pass.

Sucky Teacher

What's up with that little monster? Pinag-quiz kami tapos hindi niya pinapasa. Arrrgh. Zero na raw kami lahat dun. Palibhasa mali-mali yung given. Ano kaya yun? Violation of the law of conservation chu chu yun!
She even borrowed a manual to read the procedures! How dare she!
Mukha pa namang mabait, little monster pala!

SpOnGeBoB sQuArEpAnTs

Spongebob Squarepants is one of the most entertaining shows on earth. Spongebob's the shallowest creature in Bikini Bottom and Patrick Starr's the most moronic starfish in the world. Some other characters are equally funny too. Plus, yellow is such a great color.

Thinking Aloud

The human body is crafted to perfection that even sheer ugliness cannot conceal its magnificence. Every bone and flesh is shaped and positioned in exact precision to fit its purpose. I can't help but wonder with awe and amazement how my own body (or any body for that matter) can be so perfect despite the exterior imperfections that envelope it. God must have been so wise to create a being almost ideal. Darwinian theorists must be crazy thinking that we evolved from apes (although the resemblance is astonishing)!
Yet, some people fail to see the inherent beauty of our species. Some even go through incredible lengths in the attempt to make the 'best', 'bestter'. Not knowing that there isn't such a word. As men we are bound to be discontented even if we don't have to be. We take in more than what we can handle leading to further discontent and disappointment.
I may not be able to memorize all terms and jargon from our Anatomy class but I'm sure I know better now, far better. :)
