Sabi ng naging teacher ko nung high school "Do not stop children from daydreaming once in a while. This is when they plan their future". Galing.
Eto ang produkto ng collective daydreaming ko:
Plano kong grumaduate on time. Ibig sabihin, sa 2007, lalayas na ako sa college of nursing. Twenty years old na 'ko nito. Wala akong balak madelay. At lalong wala sa mga hinagap ko ang abutin ang maximum residency na pwede sa CN. Pagkagraduate, magte-take ako ng NCLEX. Ipapasa ko yun at magiging lisensyadong nurse na ako. Which means, maaacheive ko na ang mga unang letrang idadagdag ko sa pangalan ko, Mary Erica P. Diaz, RN. Hindi muna pala ako tsutsugi papuntang abroad. Gusto ko naman muna magsilbi sa bayan. Hindi ako nagpapakabayani. Gusto ko lang muna tumanaw ng utang na loob sa kanya dahil pinag-aral niya ako. Nakakahiya naman diba? Iskolar ka ng bayan pero ni minsan hindi ka naman napakinabangan ng bayang nagpaaral sayo. Atsaka ayoko lang magkautang. Masyado na 'kong marami nun. And besides, siguro mga 70 thou na ang utang ko sa World bank nun. Mga dalawa hanggang tatlong taon muna akong magtatrabaho dito. Gusto ko sana sa PGH pero dahil masyadong maliit ang sweldo, magttrabaho rin ako sa Asian Hospital and Medical Center. Magtuturo rin ako. Lecturer sa CN o kaya pre-school teacher sa isang IS. Dahil wala naman akong units in Education at wala akong balak kumuha nun, hindi ako makakapagturo ng high school...sayang. Habang nagtuturo ako, gusto ko rin mag masteral. Hindi ko pa sigurado sa ngayon kung anong imamaster ko. Eventually, pag natapos ko yun magkakaron nanaman ng dagdag yung pangalan ko, Mary Erica P. Diaz, RN, MA. Pagkatapos nito, mga 27 na 'ko. Hopefully, meron na akong sariling bahay hindi masyadong magarang bahay, tama lang at yung SUV (o kaya sports car kung kasya sa budget) on the way pa lang. Pwede na 'kong mag-asawa (oo naman, gusto ko rin mag-asawa 'no!). Pero dahil masyado akong busy, walang magpapakasal sa 'kin, kaya magaabroad na lang ako. Doon ako magkakamal ng salapi habang ginagamot ang mga pasyenteng puti, magkakaron ng apartment, magiging tekky nurse (hehe), magkakaron ng kotse at magpupunta sa disney world. Magpapagawa ako ng magandang bahay sa Pinas. Dapat magkaasawa na 'ko nito. Kung wala pa rin, ibig sabihin hindi na ko magaasawa. Pero hindi ako magiging bitter old maid katulad ni Olive. Mangsspoil ako ng mga pamangkin. Yun ang magiging hobby ko. Parang gusto ko rin yata mag PhD. Tapos nun... blangko. Sa susunod na pagddaydream ko na lang sa klase.

Goshness. Hindi pa man ako nakaka-recover mula sa last Anatomy long exam, ayan nanaman may exam nanaman ulit kami. Tatlong boring na chapters ang kelangang basahin idagdag pa yung mga photocopied notes. Darn! Wala pa kong nauumpisahan! At imbes na mag-aral, inaksaya ko ang oras ko sa pagpeperfect ng french manicure na binura ko rin naman dahil laging nasisira. Kainis. Hindi kasi ako marunong magmanicure ng kanang kamay. So, mga tatlong oras akong nakaupo sa sulok at pilit na piniperpekto ang sining ng french manicure pero sumuko rin ako dahil hindi ko talaga magawa. In fairness, yung sa paa okay naman. Next time nga t-try ko yung black na nail polish para asteeg. connect?

Binigay na sa min yung Ward assignments namin para sa clinical immersion ng CW. Ang ward ko? (tada!) Pediatrics. Mukhang okay no? Natuwa nga ako e dahil at least mga bata lang mga kelangang kausapin at utuin. Pero wag ka, pagdating namin dun 'sus sobrang raming pasyente. Nakakatakot pa kasi sabi nung head nurse yung isang patient dun may TB. Wala pa naman yata akong booster shots ng TB. Sabi niya kelangan daw namin bumili ng mask para hindi mahawa. Sana naman okay na ang surgical mask at alcohol para malabanan ang TB. Kung hindi, goodluck na lang sa 'kin. At least, hindi ako napunta sa surgery. :) Kaya mag

Monday
Monday yun so late nanaman ako. Pero buti na lang late din ang teacher, yessssssss! Medyo yata late dumating sila Tin kaya ayun asa likod na kami umupo. Asteeg! Row four na row four and dating. Yung tipong, super nakakatamad makinig Anatomy pa naman yung subject. Oh well, as usual daldalan galore nanaman ako. Yung dalawa kong katabi (si Tin at Gica) dinaldal ko. At least, nagkaron ako ng rare bonding time with a non-mascian blockmate. Humingi ako ng sampalok sa kanya, pero tinanggihan ko rin pala ulit kasi last sampalok niya na yun diba? baka mabitin pa siya. hindi na lang. Eventually, napagod rin ako sa kadadaldal kaya nilabas ko na lang ang baon kong sunflower.
The long four-hour break was entirely spent at the library, hounding for books to include in my initial biblio. I was hard. Damn hard. Then I decided, I'd change topics. I have no topics to date. Suggestions please?
Tuesday
I was unusually, almost freakingly early last Tuesday. Bakit? Absent kasi ako nung last meeting. Apparently, sinabi pala sa kanila ni Prof. Umbridge na 9:00 pa yung pasok. Dammit ang aga ko ha! 8:00 pa lang andun na ko. Hindi ako sanay.
Sa Chem naman namin, ayun nag-stoichiometry chuva ever kami. Ok lang naman. Kaya lang pakshet bat ganon? wala akong maalala nung high school chem? Teka, nag-chem ba ko nung high school?
Yay! Birthday ni Kare kaya nagkitakts kami sa rob. Blinowout niya kami. Ako ay nabusog. At ang galing kong kumuha ng picture.
Wednesday
I was late again. Pero sinadya ko yun dahil tinatamad akong mag-PE. Sus! Hindi naman kasama sa averaging yun e. Kaya okay lang kung tres. Tamang-tama dahil pagdating ko gumagawa pa lang sila ng activity. At after 15 minutes, dismissed na agad! Asteeg.

Thursday
Enjoy ang N2 ngayon, kakaiba. Ang kewl pala maging pre-school teacher. Para tuloy gusto ko na ring mag pre-school teacher. Katapos, magmamasters ako. Tapos, pag sinipag mag pi-PhD ako.
Friday
Tada! I am late again. I was an hour late. HIndi ko tuloy naabutan yung 20-item quiz sa chemlab but it's okay. Dapat kasi papasok ako ng unnoticed kaya yumuko ako para di makita ng teacher at tutal malapit naman sa pinto ang seat ko. Pero pag yuko ko na patid ako sa bag ko so ayun, commotion! Napansin pa tuloy lalo. BUti na lang hindi nanermon ang tiyanak!

I'm not usually one who would go to computer shops but here I am somewhere in pedro gil (I don't really know the name of the street but it's near pedro gil) sitting in front of a foreign computer which I think I really, really like because it's fast and it uses XP. I'm not used to these computers. They have timers that kind of puts pressure on your surfing and it sucks, big time. I wouldn't be renting a computer now if I weren't too lazy to have completed my comm assignment last night. Oh well, there's a lesson we learn each day.

I was actually going to write about a lot of things about this week when suddenly, everything went blank. Nothing. All static. It's like wanting to sneeze but you can't then you feel pain in your sinuses (i don't really know) then you you get really, really pissed and treat everyone like crap all because you weren't able to sneeze. But then, sneeze's like gas ( 'cause there's no stopping us) so when you finally get to sneeze you sneeze so hard that the speed is so tremendous and the force (oh the force!) is just so great it'll blow the insides of your head out. Then, you'll never have to sneeze for the rest of your g*ddam life. Never again.
But then again, some things are just so liberating. Like giving birth to a 3-pound baby who's been swimming inside you for the past nine months of your life (Oh yeah, like we can relate to that). Like eating a lot in noche buena then releasing all the bad ch'i when nature calls afterwards. Like the feeling of having passed a chem 14 departmental exam after long hours of studying. Like getting home after a sucky day at school. Like sneezing, passing gas. Like blogging.

I missed my bloggy

The year of the monkey is treating me like super! We got our test results this week and I passed our first long exam in N3 (yehey!). All that studying and praying paid off. I also passed our first chem departmental exam (bigger yehey!) with higher mark than expected. I really thought I was finished with chem14. Whew, thank God! Well, that's a good way to start the year.

Anyhoos, I pulled off another of my moronic stunts at school yet again.

I fell off the last two steps of the stairs, landed on my knees, screamed, been laughed at by Julius(!), myself and God-knows whoelse, and ended up with a really, really, really small, almost unoticeable abrasion (because I was wearing pants) with the whole school looking because apparently I was busy texting while walking. What kind of creature does that while going down the stairs?! I was fortunate enough we were going home when that happened so that, they'll never see more of me for the day. I looked really silly and hilarious that when I think of it I laugh at the sight of my idiocy. Now they'll all remember me and say "Ayan yung babeng nahulog sa hagdan ng RH text kasi ng text" followed by muffled laughter whenever I pass by. Sweeeet... What a nice way to make yourself known! I just hope no one would remember that.

I can't believe myself. How lazy can I get? Two weeks of no classes (ergo, a lot of time to do things) and I haven't finished the ton of requirements I'm supposed to do and it's freakin' Sunday night already! So here I am in front of the computer once again, cramming. I never understood why people are so fond of putting things off for the last minute and then cram everything the night before the dreaded deadline and cuss the hell out of everything because darned prof didn't give enough time. Drat! What stupidity.
Remember the list of things to do I posted? I haven't accomplished half of that until now. I haven't read my Marieb. I haven't read the Comm2 handouts. I haven't read the (lame)PE handouts. I haven't studied for our Chem14 exam on Tuesday. Apparently, I won't have time for that anymore. Which makes me think, what have I done the past couple of weeks?! I can't remember anything. Or maybe, I haven't done anything that's why I can't remember. Or yet another maybe, I have spent so much time in sleeping that I didn't have enough time to do anything else.
Looking on the other side of the coin, maybe two weeks just wasn't enough for all the things I had to do. If only vacation was extended for another more week maybe I can work on my requirements... but again, maybe not.
I'm hardly prepared to go to school tomorrow. I'm just hoping I won't be late (again) for my first period 'cause that's a really, really shitty way to start the year. I am also praying hard that she won't be giving us a quiz tomorrow 'cause that's way, way crappy. So crappy that it makes cat's dung smell so good. Hi Mela (you cute cat)!

I watched 3 Spongebob shows today. Funny. And I already have the Spongebob theme song on my playlist! Nothing (except a picture of Cher or Lourd on your site) can be cooler than that..

You just got a Letter

Steve's still the better man. He dances Mail Time with gusto and perfection unlike Joe who looks silly on the "makes me wanna wag my tail" part. Joe can't even compare with that. And I think Blue likes Steve better.

My New Year's Resolution

I, Mary Erica Poserio Diaz, therefore resolve to be less talkative (just less) this year. Ergo, give way to quiter moments. I also therefore resolve to try to get close with my non-Mascian blockmates. In the event that none of these resolutions happen, I therefore decide that I won't care. This Year I Learned That...

-you don't get anything good from drinking too much gin-pom except good memories for other people.
-people come and go but true friends will remain to bug and pester you the rest of your life
- I can be bitchy as hell. Nyahaha.
- I can have a share of frustrations too :(
- you'll never know what you would actually do unless faced with the real thing.
- I am a torpe individual.
- that blogging is so much fun and addicting.
- I am a unique human-being.
- you don't have to go with the flow all the time.
- all it takes is a little prayer and tremendous guts to go with it.
- we all go through the same predictable stages.
- Freud is a pervert.
- I can be geeky as well.
- after two years of Chemistry, I emerge not knowing anything about it. As in anything.
- it's actually nice to be better than everyone else.
- I suck at tutoring but I get paid anyways.
- it's possible to be with someone everyday and yet still have an inexhaustible source of something to talk about on the phone.
- one should discover the wonders of local tv.
- Spongebob is the funniest thing.
- people have the same testimonials and dedication messages for me. Weird...
- sometimes it's nice to be actually good in math even just once.
- college is a different world. A different galaxy, even.
- as you grow up, you learn a lot of things good, bad and whatever!
